Questions, answered

How the oil works, how refills work, and what to do if something is not right. If your question is not here, write to us and we will answer it properly.

The ritual itself

What to do, how much, and how often.
How often should I use it?

Twice a week is plenty for most people. Apply to dry hair, leave it in for at least an hour or overnight, then wash it out. More often is fine if your hair is very dry, less often if your scalp runs oily.

How much do I need?

Less than you think. Four or five drops for fine hair, eight to ten if yours is thick or long. Warm it between your palms first so it spreads evenly instead of sitting in one spot.

Will it make my hair greasy?

Not if you wash it out. The base is fractionated coconut oil, which is light and non-greasy, and a gentle shampoo lifts it cleanly. If you want to leave a little in, use two or three drops on the ends only.

Is it suitable for my hair type?

Yes. It is a 100% natural oil blend with no water, no preservatives, no sulphates, parabens or silicones, so it suits every hair type including colour-treated hair. If you have a known nut allergy, note that it contains sweet almond oil.

Can I leave it in overnight?

Yes, and many people prefer to. Use an old pillowcase, and rinse it out in the morning with a gentle shampoo.

How long does a bottle last?

Unopened or in use, the blend is good for 24 months. Keep the glass out of direct sunlight and it will hold its colour and scent for that whole time.

The bottle and the refills

The part that makes Puritya different from every other bottle on your shelf.
How do refills work?

You buy the glass bottle once. When it runs low, order a refill: it posts flat through your letterbox, you pour it into the bottle you already own, and the bottle stays exactly where it is.

Do refills fit every bottle?

Yes. Every Puritya refill fits every Puritya bottle, whichever colour you chose. There is only one bottle size.

Is the refill the same oil?

Exactly the same. Same nine botanicals, same slow infusion, same 24-month life. The refill is not a reduced version of what came in the bottle.

What do I do with the empty pouch?

Check your local council guidance, as plastic film recycling varies by area. Many UK supermarkets take soft plastics back at the front of store.

Do I need to clean the bottle first?

Not between refills of the same blend. If you are switching blends, rinse it with warm water and a little washing-up liquid and let it dry fully before topping it up.

The practical side

Delivery, returns, and who has checked what.
Where do you deliver?

We ship across the United Kingdom. Refills go by letterbox post, so no one needs to be in to receive them.

Can I return an order?

Yes. See our refund policy for the full terms, and write to us if something has arrived damaged. We would rather sort it out than have you keep a bottle you are unhappy with.

Is Puritya cruelty-free?

Yes. Puritya is never tested on animals and we hold a compliance statement on file.

Is it safe? Who has checked it?

The blend carries a full UK Cosmetic Product Safety Report, with stability data at month one and month eight, and is manufactured under a Good Manufacturing Practice statement. Puritya Limited is the responsible person.

Is it suitable for sensitive skin?

Yes, our gentle formula is designed to be kind to all skin types, including sensitive skin.
